Vista Academy is a school rich with history from decades and generations passed. The doors of Vista Academy opened in the 1940's in a time of innocence, a time when private and boarding schools were part of the norm. Still popular these days but mostly those institutions are more for people with money. Through the ups and downs of the world one thing has always stayed the same, Vista Academy is one of the best boarding schools in the United States. It stands by a challenging academic load, but also feels students should take their free time and electives to find what drives them, a passion that might help them later in life. Vista Academy welcomes all students from the artistic to the highly intelligent only worried about getting straight A’s. No one is discriminated against. A home away from home Vista Academy prides itself in taking suggestions from its students on how to improve things around campus to truly make it feel like home. Students are allowed to have their own TVs, stereos and game systems in their rooms. Though these are privileges that can be suspended if grades begin to slip, so keep those grades up. All rooms are doubles, two beds, two dressers, two desks and a bathroom. There are no singles at this time. Also with the College there are two people to all dorms, same as for the High Schoolers. Though the school also offers on campus Apartments for those students not needing the dorm life experience. |

THE YEAR IS 2059. Mandatory genetic screening has been in effect for over sixty years.
Every day, all over the world, children testing positive for the genetic phenotypes associated
with homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality are removed from their parents and relocated
to walled-off sub-districts of major cities by the global theocracy. Families are destroyed, lives
irrevocably altered. Within the Districts, LGBT individuals are governed by a set of restrictions
and privileges bestowed based on their socioeconomic status. Some are apathetic, some despair,
some are even reasonably content -- and some are angry. Very angry. Maybe it's only a matter of
time. Sure, most of the populace is complacent, but echoes of dissent are popping up everywhere
these days. Some of them aren't afraid of doing what it takes to be heard. Where do you stand?
With the silent, downtrodden majority? With those who believe that working from within the system
is the only way to defeat it, that small victories will eventually add up to the big one? Or are you
with the hardliners, the rebels, the ones ready to set the world on fire to get their point across?
SHAKEN AS WE ARE is a referral-based LGBT rpg set in a dystopic, near-future
Chicago modified by more than a hundred years of alternate history. We're a small, relaxed
game with an emphasis on community feeling, well-developed characters, and good writing.SHAKEN AS WE ARE is holding open registration from Dec 18 through Jan 18!

On October 31st, 1999, a group of eco-terrorists released a biological weapon at every major airport in the world. 48 hours later, the true nature of the weapon became clear. The infected became violent, infecting others through bites and scratches. 50 hours after the first contagion was released, governments across the globe initiated states of emergency. Sites were designated as shelters with troops and Aurors sent to protect those sites at all costs. Radio broadcasts gave the locations of the Ministry of Magic and Buckingham Palace as 'safe spots' but they were really processing centers screening out the infected and sending the uninfected via the Floo network to hidden shelters. Those lucky enough to find shelter must now wait it out – the 28 long days for the infected to starve to death or kill each other in their madness. Then they will have the unenviable task of rebuilding society and the world. |
